Sigma Chain, a blockchain total solution
company led by Kwak Jin-young, announced that it will launch the decentralized
social media platform 'Piki' based on the Sigma Chain blockchain mainnet as a
DApp at the '2023 World IT Show' held at COEX on the 19th.
'Piki' is a decentralized web3 SNS platform
that combines Piki, Piki Market, and Piki Room, integrating into the metaverse
virtual space. Unlike existing SNS platforms, Piki offers web3 services that
combine location-based social platforms, rewards, and social interactions based
on blockchain.
'Piki' is a location-based SNS service
where users can create and share their own travel and restaurant information by
writing posts about things they have discovered and experienced at their
current location and receive rewards.
In addition, 'Piki Market' is characterized
by allowing anyone to issue and trade ownership of physical assets such as
images, music, artwork, and real estate as NFTs easily and safely.
'Piki Room' is a meta-verse where users can
find friends to visit store promotions, brand showrooms, and local restaurants,
primarily interacting with people who are geographically close.
In particular, the 'Piki' project, which
Sigma Chain is promoting, involves IT and blockchain experts including Kwak
Jin-young, the former chief responsible for the development of Cyworld, as well
as Hyung Yong-jun, the founder of Cyworld, Shin Dong-yoon, the founder of
EveryZone, and Yoon Jang-jun, a technical advisor at the Korea Software
Industry Association.
Kwak Jin-young, CEO of Sigma Chain, stated,
"Just as Cyworld created a new SNS paradigm in the early days of the
Internet, we aim to establish a blockchain-popularized SNS world by positioning
'Piki' as a service that leads the future in the current early stage of
web3."
